Battery Act - to protect the environment!

In connection with the sale of equipment containing rechargeable or disposable batteries, we are obliged to draw your attention to the following in accordance with the Battery Ordinance:

Batteries may not be disposed of with household waste. You are required by law for the proper disposal of used batteries.


You can return used batteries at the point of sale where you purchased them, in municipal collection, in stores or by mail (postage paid) to the point of sale free of charge.
Batteries that contain harmful substances are marked with this or a similar symbol of a crossed out wheelie bin

 


Under the garbage icon is the chemical name of the pollutant - in the above example "Cd" for cadmium. "Pb" stands for lead, "Hg" for mercury.
You can find these references also again in the documents accompanying the shipment or in the manufacturer's instructions.
